 THE BEST ITEM EVER!!!!! Dec 28, 2008
I purchased this disc repair system at Sears for ONLY $1.03! It was supposed to be $19.99, but it was really marked down. Anyway, I took it home and used it immediately. Setup may look confusing on the manual, but when you actually do it, it's a breeze. (By the way, I had no problems whatsoever with the wheel, like some other reviewers had). First, I put in Spongebob Squarepants: Battle For Bikini Bottom for Xbox that had been badly damaged for years. We loved the game, but we could never play it because of the scratches. Well, in just 1 use of the Skip Dr., It played PERFECTLY on every level/part of the game. Next, we put in an EVEN more damaged DVD: Athens 2004 Olympic Games : Gymnastics. In three tries, the almost unaccessable DVD played perfect the whole time through; a lot like when we first opened it! I HIGHLY recommend the Skip Dr., it rocks.
(P.S. I can't wait to buy the new edition of the Skip Dr.!)

I purchased this item about 2 years ago and must say that I have nothing but praise. It has to this date repaired over 100 cds which I thought were beyond help.Being a DJ the product has been a godsend and the price was well worth it (£18.75). great product.

I had great success with this product! I've saved three discs so far. Lent it to a friend and it worked for her too.

This DVD Doctor is complete garbage. I had bought it awhile back (unfortunately so long ago, I had to contact the manufacturer to get my money back) thinking it would be good to have in case I have a problem with a DVD or CD. Anyway, I had a DVD that jammed and skipped. After carefully cleaning the DVD, the problem persisted. I whipped out my DVD Doctor, assembled it, and tried to use it. The wheel buckled and would not turn correctly. I called the manufacturer (remember it was purchased long ago and couldn't be returned). Instead of allowing me to return it, they sent me two new replacement wheels. Okay. All well and good. I got the replacement wheels and they, happily, did not buckle. I followed the directions to the letter. Now, instead of the DVD jamming and skipping at certain places . . . IT DOES NOT PLAY AT ALL!!!!!!!!! This product is pure junk and I would not only never recommend it to anyone, I would steer clear of any and all Digital Innovation products. I now have a completely ruined DVD (which I also cannot return since it was bought more than ninety days ago) and this piece of junk - which is going right into the trash where it belongs. Do yourself a favor - DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT OR ANYTHING MADE BY DIGITAL INNOVATIONS!!!!! As you can see by the reviews, it's a 50/50 crapshoot on whether it will work or not or even further destroy your CD/DVD!

Skip Doctor Advanced Optical Repair System
I bought this product because my Sony portable DVD reader was freezing scenes after about 30 minutes of operation-even when reading new DVDs. I thought my discs were at fault but now I feel the reader has a problem with its lens. My wife has a similar reader and has no problems. The Sony is just over one year old (cost $190) and is out of warranty. I used the repair system on the DVDs but I still had the problem. I did repair a badly scratched music disc and it worked well. Hardly a test of this gadjet-if anyone knows how I can get my Sony reader repaired let me know.
Invoice and packaging long since trashed.
